THE DYSPEPTIC FOX

The day after Pres. Obama's visit to Congress and talk to the nation. I went to the television and tuned in the Fox News channel. I wanted to see how the Consrvatives were reacting to the hour long speech that was to let us know what steps were goin to be taken to try to straighten out the economy from what the Bush programs left to us . He laid out a plan that should make the republicans and the democrats happy and I was surprised at how many times the minority rose and applauded what he said. There were tax cuts, bailout money like what Bush wanted and there was a call for we the people to have faith in what this country is made of. WE can come back. We are a strong nation and have beaten tougher situations than this.

My point of all this is this; All of the talking heads of Fox News were not in a cheery mood. They appeared dyspeptic. In other words they looked sick to their stomaches. There was no bater and fun to be had. They really strained to find a cause to hang there hats on that would hang the Democrats. It was the weakest attempt at Partisan politics that I have seen from them in years! The Governor of LA. was parroting all the old catch phrases of Hannity, Limbaugh and the others in a weak response to the speech.

I guess I may be more liberal than I thought when I feel this way about these people, but I still feel that honest people can see the good side and the bad side of anything. They just have to get behind what they believe and push.

COBRA ATTACK

http://sezme-sezmesezucom.blogspot.com

We had a cobra attack at my house yesterday!! My son and his family were visiting from Manchester, Connecticut. They have three boys , 12, 11 and 4 years old. All was well until the 11 yearold, Alex, draped a cobra around the neck of the 4, year old Jack..The four year old panicked and grabbed the snake and threw it over his head and it hit his father in the head. Of course that made Father a little upset. A scary situation, huh?? Fortunately, no one got bit. Fortunately, there is another side of the story.

Of course the cobra was a nice carved and jointed wooden replica. The point is, leaving a few details out of a story can cause a misunderstanding and will result in a person to be mislead and spun to a different conclusion. Limbaugh, Hannity, Colture and disingenuous politicians use that tactic to confuse and control the thoughts of the people.

For you inexperienced or uninformed people out there, read, listen and and catch both sides of the story. Don't be a tool of an action that is not thoroughly understood.!!

A NICE DAY

It is a nice day today. The sun shines and there is no wind, temp. around 30 degrees. The Doc says I need exercise to get my wgt. down and then, control my blood pressure and diabetes. I took a brisk 25 minute walk and really enjoyed it. I started a yoga and walking regimen a week ago and we will see what we will see. It has been fun so far.

We now have a 700 billion dollar stimulus on the way. State governments will do well from it and some other service entities will have a windfall to apply to their programs. I guess that is good but we on the bottom of the economic pyramid aren't seeing much of it directly. Maybe a little cut in our taxes. No large amount to help out the people who support the rest of the economic pile.

I did some simple math a few minutes ago and discovered that $ 720,000,ooo,ooo added to the last package of around $750,000,000,000 Bush doled out a total of equaled around $1,500,000,000,ooo (That is $1.5 trillion !) Divide that by a population of 300,000,000 (million) people and every man woman and child on the books would get $5,000 dollars each. My household would gain a total of $35,000 for our use. We could use that and the local stores and services would be glad to see us coming in to purchase their product.

Lets hear it for the trickle up economic theory!!!

WINNERS AND LOSERS

The far right and the far left don't like competition. If you are on the right, you want to monopolize whatever you are involved in. Read about the Robber Barons and check out Teddy Roosevelts trust busting activities.

On the far left, losing is bad for the psyche of the developing child and for mental health in general. For instance, in many areas it is no longer legal to play dodgeball and some area in Maryland ( according to G Gordon Liddy on his show) the liberals are trying to eradicate the game of tag. It creates too many losers. What a boring world we are headed for if there are no more losers. Liberal educators , to the extreme want to do away with grading. No more failures, please.

I was a coach for a number of years and I can speak about the subject of winning and losing.. Everyone WANTS to be a winner. In our present day concept of winning, it takes a desire to win and that, in turn, requires hard work and discipline to reach your goal. If you make it, guess what, you created a loser. Worse, you lost and now maybe you will work harder and suceed the next time. That's not all bad is it?

Take this a step further; there are far more losers than winners in this world . A league of 10 teams will usually have 9 losers at the end of the season. Elections have losers. Wars have losers. Everyone loses in a war, in fact. We are all losers at one time or another. we have a far better chance of losing than winning. My big question is how can you know what it feels like to be a winner if you never lost?? Competition is the lifeblood of life. Without it could society progress? Losing usually makes a person try harder to win the next time.

You can't feel good if you don't know what it is to feel bad. Thankfully, most of us feel good more than we feel bad.

everyone should know this

What are you to do if you have a heart attackWhile you are alone. If you've already received this,It means people care about you.The Johnson City Medical Center staff actuallyDiscovered this and did an in-depth studyOn it in our ICU.The two individuals that discovered this then didAn article on it, had it published and have had it incorporated intoACLS and CPR classes. It is very true and has and does work.It is called cough CPR. A cardiologist says it's the truth. If everyone who gets this sends it to 10 people,You can bet that we'll save at least one life. It could save your life.

Let's say it's 6:15 p.m. And you're driving home (alone of course), after an usually hard day on the job. You're really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain In your chest that starts to radiate out Into your arm and up into your jaw.You are only about five miles from the hospital Nearest your home. Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far. What can you do? You've been trained in CPR. But the guy that taught the course didn't tell you what to do if it happened to yourself. Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seemed to be in order. Without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint,Has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly andvery vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keeps the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives! From Health Cares, Rochester General Hospital via Chapter 240s newsletter 'AND THE BEAT GOES ON ' (reprint from The Mended Hearts, Inc. Publication, Heart Response) BE A FRIEND AND PLEASE SEND THIS ARTICLE TO AS MANY FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE!

Bipartisan Beavers

Beavers are bipartisan. They work hard no matter which politician is in office. They have done thier job for hundreds of years: build and repair dams so they can lead a safe and fruitful life.

My wife and I were driving by a spot that brought back a distant memory (65 years ago) of my family and my father in particular. In this spot we went on a family field trip after supper and after he had put in a ten hour day on the job. He didn't tell us what was up, but soon we neared a pond in the woods. He asked us to keep quiet and sit down about 20 yards from the waters edge. Soon, a motion in the water revealed a beaver coming to the surface. We watched him swim and work around the dam for a while and then my father stood up. The beaver noticed the motion, looked around and then gave the water a loud slap with his huge flat tail. That is the alarm system for beavers and we were all surprised and impressed. My wife Nancy then related a similar story from her childhood and her father .

The beavers do a good job maintaining and operating thier environment. They don't worry about lobbyists and outside influence. They do their job in a co-operative way and that is the way our society should work.

I could relate many stories of this sort that imparted education and enjoyment from the impartiality of nature. How many people of this day and age could or would be impressed by a study of such things. Nature does not care about parties, politics and partisanship. It is just there for us to enjoy. I wish every kid could experience things like this and get away from the electonics that take up thier time now

TRICKLE DOWN LOL TRICKLE UP!!!

When Ronald Regan was President, I had respect for what he did. He brought the military up to strength and he was a strong voice in world politics. However, his economics were questionable. Cut taxes, great . We all like less taxes to pay, but he cut them at the top and the money saved by the wealthy was supposed to trickle down to the working family. Little did we know that the working families were living in Mexico, China and other third world places where labor was cheap. Those people took thier saved tax money and invested it in NAFTA and GAT and ourour jobs trickled overseas. We are really feeling it now. It was not all Bush's fault.

Now G.W. has signed a bailout (stimulus) bill that went to the bankers and they payed out huge bonuses and then invested the remainder into buying out other weak banks. The trickle went sideways and flooded the bank accounts of the people who engineered near bankruptcy in their own companies. According to that policy the man who sold the salmonella peanutbutter should get a nice payoff. His company is failing to a fault!

Let's try something new!! How about giving all of this next stimulus package to the working families of THIS country. I bet that they would all pay bills, buy things and use the money in a way that would move merchandise . Merchants would prosper and order new goods and the factories would get busy and hire people. A great TRICKLE UP would start. Money always flows uphill and ends up in the pockets of the rich anyway. It would at least start its trip up in THIS great country!

OBAMA FAILING ALREADY??

ALREADY, THE FAR RIGHT AND THE FAR LEFT ARE JUMPING ON OUR PRESIDENT AND SAYING THAT HE FAILED TO BE FORCEFUL SOON ENOUGH. THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT HIS PRESS CONFERENCE SPEECH MONDAY NIGHT AND THE LATEST BAILOUT PLAN BEING OFFERED BY HIS ADMINISTRATION. HE HAS BEEN IN OFFICE FOR 31 DAYS, AFTER ALL, SO HE SHOULD BE PERFECT BY THIS TIME.

The far right wants more tax cuts and the far left wants more programs offered. Hmmm, did the taxcuts and rebates under Bush work? Did the bank bailout work? Well they did for the executives who went on junketss to the sunny south and other resorts. The ceos and vice presidents got billions in bonuses. And the failing banks were able to buy out other smaller banks. After all that, we needed another near trillion dollar bailout that is in the works now. In Obama"s press conference, the other night, he was quite forceful in what was needed from Congress in passing this program. (I think the previous administration may have failed a tiny bit.) Now the right and left and some in the press say it came too late and the bailout probably would fail to do any good.

THE.PRESIDENT DESERVES AT LEAST ANOTHER WEEK BEFORE YOU PEOPLE CAN CALL HIS ADMINISTRATION A FAILED ONE. (That was sarcasm in case far right and left couldn't tell!)

FAIRNESS AND MODERATION

I hope to open a fair dialogue concerning the value of the "middle of the road" and its worth in keeping the "radical right" and the "radical left" separated and in turn inserting some sanity in the state of our political attitude. It is past the time to erase the partisanship of the past 24 years . The Limbaughs and Hannitys and Coltures have done enough damage to our countries political health. I would mention the far left, but they have been overwhemed in the same time span. The right and the left need to be calmed and the quiet Middle needs to speak up. They are the ones who make this country work the way it should. Fairness and moderation in all things and solve the big problems when they occur.

Watch CSPAN if you want to see both sides of an issue that Congress is working on.
